Connecting spaces for radical thinking

Spaces hoping to join the Network will need to fulfil certain criteria.

The criteria
  1. All gatherings at the space must be in-person
  2. All talks and discussions must be based on the understanding that we are witnessing the breakdown of our climate, the mass extinction of life on earth, intersecting social and political crises and the potential collapse of our civilisation.
  3. The space should be a crucible for radical ideas, focused on imagining and creating a new paradigm, not tweaking the old, dying system.
  4. It must be a convivial place, centred on care, hospitality and community-building, where food is offered and phones and other devices are banned. Meetings must be social as well as discursive.

Aside from these criteria, we hope that each member space will be firmly grounded in place and reflect its founders’ particular interest, focus and taste.

Supporting Emerging Spaces

As well as a means of connecting established spaces, the Counter Club Network exists to provide support for groups and individuals setting up and growing their own spaces. As more spaces join, it will become a forum for mutual support, skill sharing and knowledge exchange.

We will be holding regular online meetings for anyone considering setting up their own space. If you’d like to take part email members@counterclub.earth
